"Duchess of Manchester" wearing a blue velvet lace trimmed dress in a landscape, unsigned, follower of Jean-Marc Nattier, French, 1685-1766, oil on canvas, 18th or 19th century, 40 x 31-5/8 in.; fine 19th century gilt wood and composition French frame with reticulated shell cartouches and acanthus decoration. Two periods of restoration with retouch in face, eyes, cheeks, points on chest and proper left arm, lower right edges, possible areas of overcleaning, abraded edges lower right, craquelure, cupping, cleavage, 19th century lining; frame with original surface with losses.
