chenille and metallic thread embroidery on red damask silk with rust colored velvet borders, decorative metallic trim, linen backing, probably Continental, 19th century, runner, 76-1/2 x 17 in., cross-shaped cover, 70 x 70 in. Slight fading and wear, scattered stains on backing, trim loose at several points, otherwise very good condition. Provenance: The Estate of the Late Louella Hamilton
