40 pieces, porcelain with Italianate scenes, gilt highlights. 1 -- oval covered biscuit jar, 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 in., one side handle off but present, repaired (gold paint) 1 -- creamer, 6 x 5-3/4 in. 1 -- open sugar bowl, 2-7/8 x 5-3/4 in., gilt wear, star crack in base 12 -- deep saucers, 5-1/8 in., two with large chip, one with chip as made 11 -- cups, 2-1/2 in., three with cracks, two with extensive gilt loss, two with repaired handles 12 -- 6-3/8 in. plates, one large chip, four with extensive gilt loss, one with scratched painting, one with star crack 2 -- 8-1/4 in. plates 40 -- Total Provenance: Accompanying letter attributes ownership to William Davidson family, Mecklenberg County, North Carolina, circa 1828; South Carolina Private Collection.
