Airfix 1950's Fairey Rotodyne Plastic Model Kit Manufacturer: Airfix (England) Name of Model: Fairey Rotodyne Kit #: 482 Type of Box: painted Date of Model: 1950's - 1960's Condition of Box: Fair - artwork intact but one corner separation. A fine arts crafts-person familiar with paper restoration could repair it. Condition of Model: Mint. Never removed from original bag. Comments: A much desired Airfixkit. Believe it or not, this aircraft actually flew and never crashed! When the prototype was being designed it was much touted in both the professional and popular press as a solution to London's gridlock, which at that time was only equaled by NY and surpassed by L.A. This aircraft had that Popular Science magazine futuristic look. Frog and Revell also made kits of the Rotodyne, but Airfix is the best. Decal set with factory markings is outstanding. Scale: 1/72
