1887 Handbill on Ceremonies Laying the Corner Stone of Fayette County Court House, 6" x 9" announcing that it will be Laid with Masonic Ceremonies Under the auspices of the Grand Master of Ohio on Thursday, June 7th, 1883, printed by Herald Gas Engine Print, Washington.
The Fayette County Courthouse, in Washington Court House (midway between Cincinnati and Columbus) opened May 1, 1885. The tower houses a giant eight-day Seth Thomas clock, the second largest in the United States at the time of installation. Murals painted by Archibald M. Willard, painter of The Spirit of 76 adorn the walls of the second floor corridor.
