American WWII General. Commander in chief of the Strategic Air Command, During World War II. From Guam, General Power led and directed the first large-scale fire bomb raid on Tokyo, Japan, on March 9, 1945. Typed letter signed, 1 page, 6 x 8", dated April 2, 1965 on personal stationary. Power writes in his hand "..For the "Meet the Press" show on 21 March '65..I have received considerable amount of favorable mail on my appearance - Perhaps we can do it again this fall." Signed in blue "Thomas Power-Gen. USAF(ret) ". In excellent condition.
