part I only (of 3), fourth edition in English, title with typographic border, woodcut initials, lacking final leaf with printer's device, text in black letter, a few ink annotations and underlinings in contemporary hand, title soiled, browned, occasional water-staining, slight marginal worming, small paper flaw holes to E7, P5 & V7 and small rust-hole to E8, all with loss of one or two letters, a few other marginal defects, most repaired, a little cropped, bookplate of Sidney Young and manuscript notes by him on front pastedown, nineteenth century half calf, rebacked preserving old spine, a little rubbed, [STC 24723; Wellcome I 6623], 4to, by Thomas East, 1586.

***Standard text on surgery, one of the first to include sections on syphilis and gunshot wounds. The other two parts are tracts by Thomas Gale and Galen, called for on the title-page but listed separately by Wellcome (2505 & 2643)..
