***No copies recorded in the BLC or no copy has appeared at auction in the last 25 years and thus unable to ascertain whether this edition ran to 26 volumes as the folio editon. Hill was forced to carry much of the cost, and Lady Hill in her famous attack on Lord Bute, Hill's patron, entitled An Address to the Public (1788), he "became overwhelmed in debt.".
