AN EXCEPTIONAL GOLD AND GEMSET NEPHRITE IMPERIAL PRESENTATION CASE, Henrik Wigstrom, St. Petersburg 1899-1908. The nephrite case with gold twist borders, the lid applied with a roundel of pink guilloche enamel with a crown Cyrillic monogram "MP". The reverse of roundel etched with the Roman numeral XXV. The thumbpiece set with an approximate 1/2 ct. rose cut diamond. Hallmarked St. Petersburg 1899-1908, 56 gold standard, work masters initials of Henrik Wigstrom, and stamped FABERGE in Cyrillic. 3.7 inches (9.4 cm). Most likely a 25th wedding anniversary gift to Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna, wife of Duke Vladimir, in 1899. Estimate $20,000-$30,000 Literature: John Traina, The Faberge Case, N.Y.
