Weller Dickensware Indian Tobacco Jar

Rare and possibly unique Weller Dickensware Indian tobacco jar. Unmarked. A number of the feather tips have been restored and repaired and there are some minor flakes to the rim of the jar. 6 5/8" tall by 5 3/8" wide. This piece is undocumented amongst the similar Captain, Irishman, Skull, Chinaman and Turk jars. We believe that this piece, due to the intricacy of design, proved too difficult to be put in full production. The problem of broken feathers could have been too much to overcome when removing the piece from the mold, leading to abandonment of the form. Truly a rare find and one not to be overlooked by any serious Weller collector.
