Roseville Experimental Chinese Peony Vase - Rare

Rare Roseville experimental vase with applied and carved Chinese Peony design in high relief. The back of the vase is incised "Chinese Peony White Flower or Rose Color Yellow Center." This lot and the accompanying lot have been in the same Zanesville-native family for approximately 70 years with this being the first time offered on the open market. On the bottom, a series of underglaze numbers has been written, "660 627 3-923 F." There is a 1/4" flake and a minute glaze nick to the base as well as two inconspicuous nicks within the design. A series of four factory bubbles are on the rim as well as a couple factory (glazed over) chips to the base. 9" tall by 9" wide.
