Visual: Craquelure throughout with three tears in the lower center quadrant, the largest 2'' x 1''. One nail hole along the upper center edge and three nail holes along the upper left edge. A 3'' x 1'' repaired tear with corresponding patch verso to the right of the Madonna's head. Canvas loose on the stretchers. Surface dirt and oxidation scattered throughout. Blacklight: A spot of touch-up on the Madonna's lips. Heavy, uneven masking varnish- difficult to read under blacklight.
