(RKO, 1933) This is a fantastic, original RKO Pictures King Kong press book, complete with the original circus herald and revised advertising credits insert. Vivid color lithographic covers which mimic the giant upright 6-sheet poster and 24-sheet style "B" poster. It measures 12 in. x 16 in. and unfolds to a huge 24 in. x 32 in. The book comprises 20 copiously illustrated pages chock full of all types of production details, plot synopsis, cast and crew list, coloring sections, trivia and crossword games. Most significantly, it includes a record of all the movie tie-in advertisements, including lobby and window cards, 3-sheet poster styles, 6-sheet poster styles, and 24-sheet poster styles. It also includes novelty advertisement promotions for taxicab tire covers, fringed banners, door knob hangers and jig-saw puzzles, post cards, as well as various accessories like color slides, color still enlargements, balloons, 78 rpm sound-effect and talking records, buttons and even book covers! There is notice for the book published by Grosset & Dunlap that reproduces the dust jacket artwork. A complete price list for each promotional item is printed inside. The circus herald remains firmly attached and exhibits a short 1-inch crease to the upper right corner tip, otherwise fine condition.
