772. Grey gorilla study maquette from Congo. (Paramount, 1995) This 1/4 scale approval miniature figure was used to establish the look of the Grey Gorillas in the movie Congo. It is a silicone skin over a steel armature and hand painted and detailed by the same artists that created the full-sized gorillas in the movie. The hair is hand punched. Measures 15 in. tall (on base) x 16 in. long.

Profiles in History is pleased to present its third and final offering of 35 original screen-used visual effects creatures and puppets of some of the most iconic characters ever created for film. These impressive pieces were assembled over many years by a single private collector who has now decided to pass these treasures on to new caretakers.

Many of you will recognize these characters as original creations of the artists at the Academy Award-winning effects house Stan Winston Studio, and each piece is accompanied by a signed letter of authenticity from the Stan Winston Studio. Bidders please note: the consignor will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each piece to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
