779. Early "Sarris" conceptual maquette from Galaxy Quest. (DreamWorks, 1999) Before the final look of the arch nemesis of the Thermian race of beings in the Tim Allen sci-fi movie was established, there were a few possible variations on his appearance that were considered. This is one of them. This scale miniature maquette was ultimately not approved, but still has much of the character of the evil Sarris as it was sculpted and painted by one of the designers of the final look at Stan Winston Studio. The figure is hand painted and detailed resin and clay. Measures 11 in. tall (on base) x 13 in. wide.

Profiles in History is pleased to present its third and final offering of 35 original screen-used visual effects creatures and puppets of some of the most iconic characters ever created for film. These impressive pieces were assembled over many years by a single private collector who has now decided to pass these treasures on to new caretakers.

Many of you will recognize these characters as original creations of the artists at the Academy Award-winning effects house Stan Winston Studio, and each piece is accompanied by a signed letter of authenticity from the Stan Winston Studio. Bidders please note: the consignor will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each piece to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
