
811. Original pencil drawings and blueprints of Sleeping Beauty's Castle by architect Roland Hill. Seven original drawings by Roland Hill, accomplished in pencil, on leaves of tracing paper of various sizes (approx. 14 in. x 17 in., 17 in. x 20 in.). The seven drawings include a full front view of the castle (17 in. x 20 in.), details of the drinking fountain, and views of the interior courtyard of the castle (14 in. x 20 in.). Roland Hill began his career as a film set designer in the 1930s. He was hired by Disney in the early 1950s to join the staff of designers, called "Imagineers," who developed Disney's theme park. During his tenure, Hill designed Main Street, the "Chicken of the Sea" Pirate Ship, and Sleeping Beauty's Castle. These drawings are rare artifacts of one of the most recognizable structures of the 20th century. $15000 - $18000
