Israel Paldi (1892-1979) was born in 1892 in Russia and immigrated to Israel in 1909. During the years 1911-1914 he studied art in Munich. He created theater settings and took part in the Sao Paulo and Venice Biennales. Paldi's naïve and humoristic style is extremely unique and recognized. He creates fantastic and imaginary scenery of magical creatures using rich and lively colors.

Mysterious World portrays a fantastic and colorful vision of strange creatures and imaginary reptiles. All are on a grassy and crowded ground along with magical flowers and glittering stars. Paldi's rich imagination did not limit himself to the animals but encompassed every element in the work, be it the stars, the flowers or the general background.
