Vintage photoetching. 1938. Printed 1938. Signature stamp, verso. 10 13/16 x 8 7/8 in. (275 x 225 mm). Sheet Size: 11 11/16 x 9 5/8 in. (297 x 244 mm). Photoetchings are similar to photogravures/relief etchings. Bird and his contemporaries used this technique as a medium for original expression, rather than as a method of reproduction.
