Vintage photoetching. 1938. Printed 1938. Signature stamp, verso. 9 1/4 x 9 1/4 in. (235 x 235 mm). Sheet Size: 11 1/16 x 9 1/2 in. (281 x 241 mm). Approximately 1 in. crease at upper left sheet corner. Photoetchings are similar to photogravures/relief etchings. Bird and his contemporaries used this technique as a medium for original expression, rather than as a method of reproduction.
