Vintage photoetching. 1938. Printed 1938. Signature stamp, verso. 10 7/8 x 8 15/16 in. (276 x 227 mm). Sheet Size: 11 3/4 x 9 11/16 in. (298 x 246 mm). Photoetchings are similar to photogravures/relief etchings. Bird and his contemporaries used this technique as a medium for original expression, rather than as a method of reproduction.
