Vintage photoetching. 1938. Printed 1938. Signature stamp, verso. 10 13/16 x 8 7/8 in. (275 x 225 mm). Sheet Size: 12 1/16 x 9 1/2 in. (306 x 241 mm). Photoetchings are similar to photogravures/relief etchings. Bird and his contemporaries used this technique as a medium for original expression, rather than as a method of reproduction.
