MAMIE DOUD EISENHOWER (1896-1979), First Lady of the United States. Typed Letter Signed "Mamie Doud Eisenhower," on Mrs Dwight D. Eisenhower letterhead. One page, 7 1/4" x 10 1/2". New York, New York. December 1st, 1952. Eisenhower writes, in part: "… How very sweet of you to send me such a wonderful letter of congratulations! I shall treasure your letter along with the many others we have received as an expression of your friendship and loyalty. My husband and I are deeply touched by the hard work you and your husband did during the campaign. May we count on you both now to give the General the same kind of support when he begins to struggle with the very serious problems of government?
