Color cover illustration shows a baseball player and a politician riding a seesaw, with the politician being thrown off backwards with the assistance of a man identified as "the common people." America's first successful humor magazine, Puck was noted for its sharp humor and colorful satirical caricatures which focused on the political and social issues of the day.
