1888, Oregon. Stock certificate for 100 shares of the Oregon and Transcontinental Company. Green/Black. Engraved vignette of Native Americans overlooking a valley with passing steam locomotive. Issued to George M. Pullman and signed by him on verso. GEORGE M. PULLMAN (1831 - 1897). Industrialist; Inventor. Pullman's Palace Car company was organized in 1867 after public acceptance of his "Pioneer" sleeping car. Guided by Pullman's business acumen, the company grew to become the greatest railroad car construction company in the world. Stamp and punch cancelled, not affecting Pullman's signature.
