Description: Engraved document. 14½x14¼, including 32 unredeemed dividend coupons.Signed by future President of the United States Millard Fillmore as Comptroller of New York State. Also signed by J. Van Rensselaer as President of the company, J. W. Fairfield as Secretary & "Archd. Campbell" as Deputy Secretary of State. Each of the dividend coupons is signed by Fairfield. The bond, numbered 35, was issued to "release the prior lien of the State on the Hudson and Berkshire Rail-Raod, and to authorise the Stockholders thereof to relay the same with a heavy T rail". One of the dividend coupons was clipped off and reattached with thread. There are five small holes in Fillmore's signature for cancellation.
