PAINTING OF A EUROPEAN BATTLE (18TH OR 19TH CENTURY).
Oil on canvas, unsigned, probably Italian. Some damage. 28 3/4"h. 46 3/4"w., in a gold-painted frame, 32 3/4"h. 50 3/4"w. An older note affi xed to
verso indicates that a "M.T. Carey" purchased this painting in 1925 from the Piedmont, Italy, castle of Count Alvarez de Toledo.

Condition: Relined, two tears visible on front, several patches visible on back, surface is very dirty, some insect damage to the stretcher. Not blacklit.
