Oil on canvas, signed lower left. A dramatic depiction of several boats trying to get to shore as a fierce storm rolls in. Scattered spotting in the sky. 23 3/4"h. 36"w., original gilt frame, 32 1/2"h. 45"w. Worthington was both an artist and a photographer. He moved to Aberystwyth, on the western coast of England. His family owned a number of fishing vessels, his brothers were masters of some, and two of his sons were fishermen. A similar scene to the one offered here is in the collection of the Ceredigion Museum in Aberystwyth.
