PAIR OF ORNATELY CARVED ARMCHAIRS.
Probably Burmese. Late 19th-early 20th Century. Dense hardwood. Deity handling serpents and serpents swallowing female figures, elephants, reptiles and birds as well as floral carvings decorate the chairs. Finials are seated turbaned man, holding open book on his lap. May have had center finial at one time. 44"h. 25"w. 22 1/2"d.
