Scandinavian Porridge Keg or Porringer: carved and painted wood with painted designs in colors of brown, green, yellow and red. The cover is held in place by a wood peg. On the bottom are painted initials and a last name. These look like BG Kveen, this may not be correct. This is an early piece, circa 1830-1850 from the Gudbrandsdal region. The wood is thick and well preserved.
(The interior has a distinctive, not indentified odor.)
