Vignette of an eagle perched atop a rock with a locomotive and steamships in background at top center and a vignette of an oil well at lower left within an orange seal.Incorporated in 1883, The Colorado Midland Railroad was the first standard gauge railroad built over the Continental Divide. The line ran from Colorado Springs to Leadville and through the divide at Hagerman Pass to Aspen and Grand Junction, Colorado. In September of 1890, the line was acquired by the AT & SF.
