Bernie Wrightson Freak Show page 1 Original Art (Heavy Metal, circa 1982). When a couple's relaxing evening at home is disturbed by a strange noise, the man, convinced that it is "probably nothing," pulls back the curtain, as the sound gets louder and louder -- and so begins the descent into terror in Bernie Wrightson's graphic novel, Freak Show, a tale of a traveling show of oddities. Wrightson's linework is reminiscent of one of his artistic idols, illustrator Franklin Booth. This page has an image area of 11.5" x 16.5". The word balloons are all unlettered (the finished lettering was added in later during a production stage), and except for some light tanning on the left side of the page, this piece is in Very Good condition. This page was signed in its first panel by Bernie Wrightson.
