Newell Printing Year: 1846 First Edition Condition/Details: Bound in brown cloth with gilt title on spine, this antique book is a scarce first edition of a nineteenth-century cookbook providing both recipes and practical information about housekeeping, gardening and etiquette. The work contains the original frontispiece of beef, mutton and pork diagramed and an illustration of idyllic domesticity on title page. Half-title page reads "The Lady's Domestic Annual for 1847". The volume shows external wear with both top corners of both front and rear boards chipped and light soiling to covers, gilt lettering on spine shows well with fine patina and blindstamp decoration and borders on front and rear boards. The book is solidly bound with very light foxing throughout. The book measures approximately 4.5" x 7.5" and contains 208 pages.
