Printing Year: 1862 Condition/Details: Bound in stamped black calfskin with gilt design at center of covers, this antique book is a scarce Civil War-era guide for home medicine. The work is illustrated with engravings including several color botanical plates. The volume shows significant external wear with large tears to front cover and lower part of spine and wear around edges. Text block is intact and solid with clean, marble-edged pages. Marble endpaper and first and last pages are stained. The book measures approximately 6.5" x 10" and contains 1048 pages followed by a publisher's catalog.
