The book addresses itself "less to the accomplished geologist, than to the student", as it covers topics ranging from classification of rocks to currents and volcanoes, with great attention provided to organic remains. The work contains many in-text illustrations, charts and tables. The volume shows significant external wear, and is solidly bound with clean pages. Previous owner's inscription on front fly-leaf and annotation in ink at the bottom of first page. The book measures approximately 5.5" x 9" and contains 535 pages.
