Mali, Malinke. Female figure with incised crests dominating the coiffure, small nose under dominating pierced nose, in the pieced ears remains of redish string decoration. Sacrification marks on the head and the body. Wood, glossy dark patina. H. ca. 39.5 cm. Abrasions, vertical crack from left eye to the navel as well as behind the right hairdo crest. Metal pupils of the eyes and of the breast nippels are missing. Provenance: Acquired 1979 from L. Bretschneider, Munich.
