Burkina Faso, Mossi. A very old and rare Mossi mask, with a carved bird f on the forehead. Old tiny cracks on right headside and small damage by termites on top of the right plankside, the mask is painted with geometrical patterns in black, orange-brown and white. Wood, H. ca. 143 cm. Provenance: Acquired 1977 from Stella Pitt-Rivers, London.
