Liberia, Bassa. Very rare and fine fetish figure. The head with the face of abstractedly presence, with sacrification pattern on the cheeks. The body is completely covered wit rough linen texture, hiding an opening at the front of the figure. Hanging coat horn on the neck. X-ray photographs coming with the figure, showing some occult metal and stone materials inside the opening. Wood, linen, cowries, black sweating patina. H. ca. 48 cm. Provenance: Acquired 1977 from L. Bretschneider at the Munich fair 'Kunst- und AntiquitŠtenmesse'.
