Ivory coast, Baule. Male figure, seated upon a round four leged stool on a base, the arms holding his long beard in both hands. Sacrification pattern on the face and neck, the carved coiffure adorned with two lateral crests. Wood, glossy black patina, H. ca. 26.5 cm. Fractions on base and feet eroded, tiny cracks. Provenance: Acquired 1979 from L. Bretschneider, Munich.
