Ivory coast, Baule. A female standing figure of dark brown wood, with numerous sacrification marks on face, neck and body. Elaborate coiffure in two lobes, ending in two braides hanging backwards, one broken off. Adorned with glass beads. Wood, old shiny dark brown patina, H. ca. 41,5 cm. Minor cracks, vertical crack at the back, cracks at the left hairdo at the back, small hole at the front of hairdo. Provenance: Acquired 1964 from L. Bretschneider, Munich. Old collection label.
