Title: Cut crystal two handled trophy with sterling silver rim
Author: ** Description: Silver rim stamped sterling and engraved "Myopia Hunt Club Golf Handicap, June 4, 1898, Won by Herbert C. Leeds." Approximately 6" tall and top diameter is 5½".Golf Architect Herbert C. Leeds (1854-1930) "first golf design experience was the creation of a new 18-hole course for Myopia Hunt Club...Leeds, who remained at Myopia all his life and served as captain of its greens committee, built the front nine in 1896 and the back nine in 1901" – from the book, The Architects of Golf (p.322). Myopia was the sight of 4 early U.S. Opens. Leeds also created the original course at Essex CC in Manchester and Bass Rocks GC in Gloucester.
