GEORGE IV STERLING OPEN SUGAR BOWL BY EDWARD FARRELL, C. 1822, 18 TROY OZ., H 4 1/2", W 6 3/4":1 open sugar H. 4 1/2", W. 6 3/4" that is stamped with Edward Farrell trademark, a lion passant, an uncrowned leopard's head, a date letter of a lower case "g" (1822) and the 1822-1833 duty mark on one side with the underside engraved with a crest above a banner that reads "Militat In Silvis" which rests above "R.H. AD: 1826", 18 TOZ and 1 Dutch .835 sugar scuttle c. 1953 that is stamped "835" and with maker's initials, possibly "H.H.", along with "835" encased within the sword mark. The tip of the scuttle's handle is in the form of a movable windmill and the bowl of the scuttle depicts three figures in an interior setting.
Condition report
Spoon needs cleaning. Has small area of discoloration on the back side. LO 06-17-2008
