Lithograph. 1819. Signed in the stone. Ample margins. 3 3/4 x 5 1/16 in. (95 x 129 mm). Rare. The first lithograph printed in the U.S.A. Issued with "The Analectic Magazine" for February 1819 (Vol. XIV No. 2). See Peters, "America on Stone," pg. 17, illustrating this image; see also Mott "American Magazines" pp. 208-210, describing and illustrating a later lithograph by Otis.
