EARLY 1800s. EXCEPTIONAL FINE FRENCH WATERCOLOR. A statue in paris of Henri IV on the Point Neuf. Henry IV ruled France as their King from 1589 to 1610, nicknamed Henry the Great. (Henri le Grand) or (Le Bon Roi Henri). He was assassinated in Paris and the statue was built in his honor in 1614. It was destroyed during the French Revolution and rebuilt in 1818. This painting in water color shows old Paris during this timecirca 1820.
