Together 4 octavo volumes, original cloth bindings.The first three titles inscribed by John Philip Sousa to Mrs. Genevieve Ralph. Pipetown Sandy: "Mrs. Ralph from John Philip Sousa. 'Ther' was nobody, as I ever laid eyes on could beat her listenin'". Fifth String: "The man in the moon is shocked to-night/And woefully pipes his eye,/For the valley is kissed by Shasta,/And Shasta is kissed by the sky;/Were I in the valley, my darling,/And you in the clouds above,/I'd climb to the summit of Shasta/And sleep in the arms of my love. To Mrs. Ralph from John Philip Sousa, 1909". Marching Along: "To Genevieve, I was an admirer from the first day we met. She has all the qualities of womanhood. God bless her. With adoration and respect, John Philip Sousa. 1929". The final volume, while bearing the ownership signature of Mrs. Ralph, is not signed by Sousa.
