(4to) 13x8¼, modern brown leather, spines lettered in gilt.A complete run of this very scarce periodical devoted to the agriculture, manufacture, and use of tobacco in its various forms. Primarily an advertising vehicle for the assorted tobacco products manufactured by Cope Brothers & Co. of Liverpool. Includes historical writings, tobacco in prose and poetry, agricultural advice and advances; etc. The January, 1875 issue contains a poem falsely attributed to Walt Whitman; the April, 1879 and November, 1880 issues contain genuine submissions by Whitman. The May, June, August, September and December, 1880 issues contain a serialized biographical sketch of Whitman by James Thompson.
