Henry Wells Tracey Serves in Congress October 28, 1862, Letter to Congratulate H.W. Tracey on his Entry Into Congress, Athens, Georgia, Extremely Fine. 10" x 7.75", 2 pages,written on fine-laid, lined paper in black ink. Now that Tracey was elected into Congress, his friend Evans wanted to "congratulate you on your recent Congressional Triumph". Hoping he will be there for years to come, Evans asks for help in obtaining a "good position". He will not discuss this any further in writing and wants to meet. This is strictly "confidential". Henry Wells Tracy was a Representative from Pennsylvania born on September 24, 1807. He served in the Thirty-eighth Congress, as an Independent, from 1863-1865.
