The Coasters Signed Contracts These papers represent an agreement between Dick Clark Concerts and The Coasters: Carl Gardner, Earl Carrol, Ronald Bright, and Thomas Palmer. The Coasters were among the premier artists featured in Dick Clark's Good Ol' Rock 'n' Roll musical review of the late 70s and early 80s whose hits include "Love Potion Number 9". Their prominence and vocal talent as Doo Wop Singers have been recognised and celebrated by the Vocal Group Hall of Fame and the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. a.This document dated February 21 1978 represents a contractual transposition of production responsibilities between Dick Clark Concerts to Spotlight Productions for The Coasters, Bobby Sheen, Bobby Nunn, Randy Jones, and Bill Richard. Each member of this incarnation of The Coasters boldly and legibly signed the document in blue ink. b. Two copies of a six page contract dated June 19 1978 detail not only the sum of monies paid to the artists, totalling D2,500 but the political dynamics of the group. Among the many paragraphs of standard performance functions and responsibilities, Carl Gardner, as the only original member of the incarnation of the group, is penned as executor of the monies paid to the group by the production company. For two performances on July 1 1978 at Old Coney Park in Ohio. Each member of the group signed the contract over the footer, "Professionally Known Jointly as "The Coasters" in blue ink by way of their manager. Estimate GBP250-300 USD500-600
