PORTRAIT PAINTING OF A GENTLEMAN (AMERICAN, CA. 1830S).
Oil on two wooden boards, unsigned. Portrait of a gentleman with blue eyes. Restored in 1900. Boards have been cradled. 26"h. 21 1/2"w., in a gilt frame, 32"h. 28"w. Condition reportCondition: Fine seam can be seen down the middle for the two boards. The overvarnish has some type of woven pattern impressed into it. One or two small spots of touch up can be seen but mostly appears to have been cleaned. Label on back board about restoration date. Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports.
