PAIR OF FEDERAL CARVED ARMCHAIRS.

Probably New York, early 19th century, mahogany and ash. Square backs with fan carved crests and four turned and reeded spindles. Serpentine arms with curved arm supports. Reeded tapered front legs end in spade feet, raked rear legs. Overupholstered seats in pale gold stripe. Refinished. Repairs at arm supports. 19 1/2"h. seats, 34 1/2"h. overall. Sold at Garth's, July 18, 2004, lot 172.
