LADY'S FEDERAL WRITING DESK.
Probably New England, late 18th-early 19th century, mahogany, figured mahogany veneer and pine. Two pieces, top case with three small drawers under crown molding and two doors opening to fitted interior with adjustable shelf. Lower case has fold-out writing surface and reeded stiles, all supported by turned and reeded feet. Well-matched and figured veneer on drawers, doors and lid. Minor pieced repair. 51"h. 42"w. 20"d.

Condition: Refinished. Pieced drawer beading. Felt writing surface and knobs have been replaced. Pieced repairs on the bottoms of the three top drawers. Missing one slide knob.
